Hi, I'm John

I'm John, the photographer behind JRS Photography, based in Banbury, North Oxfordshire.

For me, photography has always been about people and moments. I love photographs that feel natural — the ones that capture a genuine smile, a little look between two people, a child's personality or one of those moments on a wedding day that nobody else noticed.

That's very much how I like to work too. I'm not interested in turning your day or your photoshoot into one long list of poses. I'll give you some direction when you need it, but most of the time I'd much rather let things happen naturally and be there to capture them.

A Little About Me

Photography is something I've loved for many years, and over that time I've photographed everything from weddings and families to portraits, events and motorsport.

Away from the camera, I'm a husband and dad, a big motorsport fan and a long-time McLaren supporter. So when I'm not photographing a wedding or spending time with my family, there's a fair chance I'll be watching Formula 1 — or I'll still have a camera in my hand photographing something completely different!

Being a family man myself has also made me appreciate just how quickly life moves. Children grow up, families change and wedding days seem to disappear in the blink of an eye. Being able to preserve a little piece of that in a photograph is one of the things I enjoy most about what I do.

My Approach

Whether I'm photographing your wedding, your family or simply you, I want you to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

You don't need to know how to pose and you definitely don't need to spend the whole session wondering what you're supposed to be doing. We'll have a chat, keep things relaxed and hopefully have some fun along the way.

The end result should be photographs that look like you — not photographs of you trying to look like somebody else.
